Tom Brady's close embrace with glamorous college volleyball star, 21, on day out with daughter Vivian goes viral

Tom Brady has sent the internet into overdrive after sharing a warm embrace with a glamorous college volleyball star during a day out with his daughter Vivian.

The NFL legend was in attendance as the Nebraska Cornhuskers opened their 2026 season against the Texas Longhorns over the weekend, sitting courtside next to his 13-year-old daughter who is an avid volleyball player. 

Before the match got underway, Cornhuskers star Harper Murray, 21, walked over to the stands to greet Brady and Vivian, in an exchange which has since gone viral.

After shaking hands, the two wrapped their arms around each other in a lingering hug, sparking an immediate frenzy across social media. 

However, while some fans speculated over the interaction, there was nothing to suggest that it was anything more than a friendly embrace before the game. 

Brady and Murray share ties through connections in Michigan athletics, where Brady played college football and Murray grew up as a high school phenom in Ann Arbor.

Speaking to reporters after Nebraska beat the Longhorns in straight sets, Murray was full of praise for the seven-time Super Bowl champion. 

'I know him through some Michigan connections and the football program and administration there,' Murray said. 

'I know his daughter's into the sport, so I'm sure that's how he got into it and grew a love for the game.

'I think it's awesome that we have people who are legends in their sport wanting to come and support a sport that's growing in the last few years and has been so popular. I think it's just really fun. I know our team loved that he was here.'

Nebraska's social media accounts also shared photos of the sideline rendezvous, captioning the meeting between Murray and the NFL great with a handshake emoji.

Brady himself was quick to comment on the post, writing: 'Thank you and good luck this season LFG'. 

The interaction came just days before Brady made headlines again, after his spitting image son Jack was pictured towering over his mom, actress Bridget Moynahan, during a recent night out at the US Open in New York.

The 19-year-old is Brady's eldest, from his brief relationship with the Sex and the City actress, and he recently celebrated graduating from New York's elite Riverdale Country School.

Jack enjoys a trip to the US Open with his mom every year, and they were guests of Emirates for the first day of men's and women's singles action on Sunday night.

In a red carpet snap from their arrival, Jack can be seen almost a foot taller than his mom, following in his father's footsteps – and even exceeding him – at 6ft 6.

In other photos, Jack can be seen sitting between his mom Bridget and her husband Andrew Frankel to take in the action on Arthur Ashe, while another snap shows him deep in conversation with Serena Williams' former agent Jill Smoller.
