Sophie Cunningham has hit out at Angel Reese for threatening to quit the Chicago Sky, telling her fellow WNBA player there are 'some things that you can't say'.
Reese was forced to issue a groveling apology to her teammates last week after saying she 'might have to move in a different direction and do what's best for me' after Chicago failed to make the playoffs for a second straight year.
'I really didn't intentionally mean to put down my teammates, because they've been through this with me throughout the whole year,' the 23-year-old said. 'They've busted their a** just how I busted my a**.'
On the latest episode of her 'Show Me Something' podcast with Bravo personality West Wilson, Cunningham took aim at Reese and stressed that she would 'always put the team before my feelings'.
'It’s not great,' the Indiana Fever star told Wilson. 'There’s just some things that you can’t say.
'I’m a very team first type of person. I always put the team before my feelings and I think that should be a standard. You got to protect your locker room.'

Reese said she 'might have to move in a different direction' after missing out on the playoffs
Reese is one of the most high-profile stars in the WNBA despite only being in her sophomore season, with her rivalry against Cunningham's teammate Caitlin Clark vaulting the league's popularity.
Clark made the postseason in her rookie year with the Fever, and is likely to do so again in 2025 despite her long absence with injuries this season.
Reese has made the WNBA All-Star game in each of her two seasons in the league, but she is hoping for better results from her team.
Her rookie contract runs through the 2027 season, with the Sky likely approaching the 6-foot-3 forward with an extension offer before a possible free-agency test.
Only then will Reese prove her long-term loyalty to Chicago and her teammates.
