Shilo Sanders' bankruptcy trial produced a dramatic scene on Thursday as his accuser collapsed in court.
John Darjean, a former school security guard, sued Sanders for nearly $12 million and testified for more than two hours in court in Denver as the former Colorado safety tries to break free from the $11.89 million he owes.
Darjean, 50, collapsed in pain after his testimony and had to be transported to hospital in an ambulance, where he was later discharged, according to USA Today.
It came on the fourth day of the trial stemming from Sanders allegedly assaulting Darjean at a Texas high school in September 2015.
Judge Michael Romero also confirmed Deion Sanders will not have to testify on Friday, the final day of the trial, having deemed it unnecessary after Day 4.
'He is released,' Romero said Thursday about the Colorado coach, hours before they beat Georgia Tech in a dramatic season opener.

A deputy with the Boulder County Sheriff´s Office showed up at the University of Colorado campus last month to serve civil papers to Deion Sanders while the coach was at an open practice and inaccessible.
The officer was informed that the Buffaloes coach was 'unavailable at the time to receive receipt of the papers,' a spokesperson with the sheriff's office said. Sanders was subpoenaed to testify as part of the bankruptcy trial involving his son, Shilo, but has now been released after Thursday's developments in court.
Shilo was accused in 2015 of attacking Darjean at Triple A Academy, a high school within the now-shuttered Focus Academies where Deion served as CEO, according to federal and Texas state court files obtained by DailyMail.com.
Shilo allegedly slammed Darjean in the chest and continued to punch the security guard after he attempted to discipline the student, 15 at the time, for being disruptive and violating the school's no-phone policy.
Darjean filed a lawsuit in Dallas in 2016, claiming he 'sustained severe and permanent injuries including a broken neck, damage to his cervical spine, permanent neurological injuries and irreversible incontinence.'
Darjean's lawsuit ended when he won an $11.89 million default judgment against Shilo Sanders after Shilo did not show up for a trial in Texas in 2022. Shilo is now trying to get out of that debt in bankruptcy court.
His attempt to free himself from the judgement is being contested by Darjean, who argues he should not be allowed to do so because it stems from a 'willful and malicious injury', which is a specific exception to debt discharges under bankruptcy law.
Shilo filed for bankruptcy in October 2023, and two months later claimed in another filing to have just $320,477 to his name.

Darjean's legal team has accused Shilo of failing to report all of his possessions and the attorneys point to his social media accounts to prove he has more to disclose.
'Contrary to the schedules, Shilo has admitted acquiring vast amounts of high-end and expensive clothing,' reads one filing. 'For example, on his YouTube Channel posted on May 4, 2023, he states, 'Alright we at the Louis (Vuitton) Store I am trying to spend at least $50,000 today.'
The legal wrangling has continued with Shilo Sanders calling a witness to challenge Darjean's version of events on Thursday. A judge will decide who to believe after the trial concludes on Friday after hearing evidence.
