The inside story of Jose Mourinho's sacking at Fenerbahce has been revealed.
The Portuguese boss was relieved of his duties by the Turkish giants on Friday, just over a year after taking charge in Istanbul.
Defeat by Benfica in midweek, which ended Fenerbahce's hopes of reaching the Champions League group stage, proved to be the final straw for the 61-year-old.
According to Turkish outlet Spor Arena, Mourinho's relationship with the board finally broke down after tensions simmered following a disappointing campaign last season.
The outlet claims he became 'prejudiced' against local players, having left the likes of Ismail Yuksek and Irfan Can Kahveci on the bench for much of the season.
Fenerbahce also failed to beat any of the top five teams in the league last season, losing to rivals Galatasaray in both the league and the cup, and falling at home and away against Besiktas in the league.

Previously, the club could sell players for high fees every year, but under his management, no player attracted significant interest this summer.
Mourinho also failed to turn any of the players, even ones he specifically asked for, into standout performers.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss delivered a cutting statement before the last clash with Benfica, saying: 'If the Champions League was important for my club, he would make the necessary transfers.'
But it was his icy remark to vice-chairman Hamdi Akin - 'I don't know him' - that finally broke the camel's back, leaving Mourinho with zero credit at the club.
Fenerbahce have brought in the likes of Nelson Semedo and former Aston Villa starlet John Duran this summer as they bid to win back the Turkish Super Lig crown, but the moves were not enough to satisfy Mourinho.
His 11th managerial job has now come to an end, and he leaves Fenerbahce seventh in the league on four points after two games.
Mourinho's dismissal came just one day after fellow former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked by Besiktas after the Turkish club were dumped out of Europe in the Conference League play-offs.
Solskjaer, 52, lasted seven months in the role, having been appointed in January.
The pair may just be on their former employers' radar once again as pressure ramps up on Ruben Amorim after the Red Devils were humiliated by League Two Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup second round on Wednesday night.
