Cam Heyward has gotten his way and agreed a new deal with Pittsburgh Steelers that could be worth an extra $3million in payments.

The defensive tackle, 36, had made no secret of the fact he wanted more money before lining up for his team in the 2025 campaign but it looked like the standoff was going to overlap into the new season.

But on Saturday night, it was announced that new terms had been agreed where $3m in incentives have been added to reaching the playoffs and winning in the postseason.

And crucially, it means Heyward will be lining up at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon against the New York Jets.

It promises to be a fascinating game in New Jersey, with Aaron Rodgers starting his tenure as Steelers' quarterback at the place where it all went so badly wrong for him in the last two seasons.
