America's Madison Keys became a big early casualty of the US Open when she was beaten 6-7 7-6 7-5 in the first round by world No 82, Renata Zarazua.
Keys, the 2017 finalist and twice a semifinalist in New York, led by a set and a break against Zarazua, Mexico's only player in either singles draw.
But the No 6 seed's game fell apart. Keys made 89 unforced errors and 14 double faults to allow Zarazua to secure the biggest win of her career.
