Liverpool have reportedly pipped Arsenal to the signing of Salford City wonderkid Will Wright.
The 17-year-old striker, who made his debut for the Mancunian side in January, has been the subject of interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool this transfer window.
After sending scouts north to watch Wright, the Gunners agreed a £200,000 deal with Salford to secure the youngster's services.
But Liverpool, who previously put in a bid worth £100,000, have now hijacked the deal, reaching a full agreement with both the player and club, according to The Athletic.
Wright is believed to want to stay in the north-west, where he will now be coached by former Wales manager Rob Page in Liverpool's U21s team.
Manchester City also previously expressed an interest in the goal-scorer, but ultimately didn't submit a bid.

Wright's Salford debut came during his side's 8-0 drubbing at the Etihad Stadium in January.
He only played a few minutes but his inclusion underlined the League Two club's faith in him.
He went onto make a further two appearances in League Two for Salford this season.
Wright, who scored over 50 goals at all levels last season, is one of the youngest players ever to debut for the club.
He is in the second year of his scholarship, having been spotted playing for local sides Euxton Villa and Fylde only two years ago.
