Jerry Jones did not hesitate to go up to to Micah Parsons' mother, Sherese Parsons, on Friday, making a strange dig at the Dallas Cowboys wantaway star's contract standoff with the team.

The Cowboys open the 2025 NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles in 10 days, with Parsons, arguably the team's best player, not participating in team activities, demanding more money or to be traded.

Yet, Sherese and her All-Pro son were both at the Cowboys' final preseason game against the Falcons at AT&T Stadium, with Parson's mother wearing her son's No 11 jersey.

Jones did not let any talks between him and Parsons get in the way of going up to Sherese. Although, the Cowboys' owner could not help but mention it.

'Now Micah, why aren’t you out there playing?' Jerry Jones said to Sherese. 'You act like you want some money or something.'

Sherese did not appear upset with the comment, giving the 82-year-old Jones a big hug.

Jones comment was about the linebacker's holdout with the team as he purses a new contract

Parsons is the biggest NFL star still holding out from preseason activities, with Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin and Cincinnati Bengals defender Trey Hendrickson both ending their respective contract talks with their teams on Monday with lucrative new deals.

The linebacker was shockingly caught sleeping during his team's preseason game in Arlington.

Parsons was inactive for the game and provided a fairly surreal sight as he laid on a medical table and closed his eyes during the second half.

The Pro Bowl linebacker, who has sat out of all training camp practices this summer (while attending team meetings and walkthroughs), crossed his arms as he got some shut-eye during the Cowboys' 31-13 win.

He also declined to speak with the media afterwards, with teammate Trevon Diggs actually stepping in to answer questions for him.

Asked if Parsons would practice next week, Diggs told reporters: 'I don't know, his back is kinda tight. He had to get an MRI today. I don't know.'

The wantaway Parsons has cited a back injury as he continues to sit out of Dallas practices.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed he will sit down with Parsons in the coming days to discuss his 'behavior' after he fell asleep on the sideline.
