It's been a long time coming...
... in fact, it's been 76 years since Manchester United and Grimsby last met in a competitive match. Tonight they meet again in the second round of the League Cup.
These are unfamiliar surrounds for the Red Devils. Not just because they'll be turning out at a League Two ground but because they don't often enter the competition this early.
Amorim's men have the ignominy of competing in the second round because of their dismal showing in the Premier League last term and failure to secure a European spot.
But they can't come into this clash feeling sorry for themselves. The Mariners are on a good run of form and United, well, there's not much evidence that they're going to be a more coherent and effective side based on their opening two displays in the league.
This match would not ordinarily be one to look out for but under the lights in front of a raucous crowd, this could turn out to be an uncomfortable evening for the Red Devils.
Whatever happens, we'll be here with all the updates, team news and then all the action when it gets underway at 8pm. Let's get to it!
