Chiefs star Xavier Worthy suffered a dislocated right shoulder in his team's season-opener loss to the Chargers, it has emerged.
Worthy played just three snaps before he and teammate Travis Kelce collided on an underneath route - knocking the 165-pound receiver to the ground and ruling him out for the rest of the game.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has now reported that Worthy suffered a shoulder dislocation on the play, and is still undergoing tests for the issue.
Worthy, who is said to be seeking a second opinion, is reportedly expected to wear a brace and return this season - though his timetable to return is unclear.
However, it is also possible that the second-year wideout opts to get surgery.
The speedster's injury comes as his teammate Rashee Rice is already serving a six-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Rice was involved in a high-speed, hit-and-run car crash on a Dallas highway in March of 2024, and pled guilty to a third-degree felony count of collision involving serious bodily injury and a third-degree felony count of causing bodily injury in July.
The Chiefs also struggled to stay healthy at the wide receiver position last year, as Rice tore his ACL in Week 4 and missed the rest of the year.
Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown also suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation in the preseason last year and didn't return until Week 16.
Rice will not be eligible to return until Week 7, while the Chiefs will look to Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Travis Kelce to aid the passing attack in Rice and Worthy's absence.
Brown flashed his ability with a 99-yard night against the Chargers, while Smith-Schuster had five catches for 55 yards.
Kelce added 47 yards and a touchdown.
Nonetheless, it wasn't enough for Kansas City to defeat their AFC West rivals as they fell 27-21 in Brazil.
