Bill Belichick has hit back at bombshell claims he is trying to force his way out of North Carolina after a disastrous start to life as a college football head coach.
The 73-year-old has endured a difficult start at UNC, going 2-3, and recent reports claimed that the program was in chaos with him at the helm.
But Belichick is adamant that he isn't going anywhere, and he opened his press conference on Monday by speaking out about those claims for the first time.
When quizzed about reports he is looking for a way out, he said: 'Some of those are just not credible... it is what it is.'
He was then asked about the various anonymous sources that have revealed insider details about him and UNC over the past week, adding: 'Some of those are just not credible... it is what it is.'
Belichick did admit, though, that it has been a 'learning curve' for him and his team at Chapel Hill, but he remains adamant his coaching philosophy is '100 percent' working.

As well as losing the faith of the fans, Belichick is also said to have lost the locker room
The UNC football program was last week forced to release a statement to fans in a bid to quell the rising unrest, including statements from Belichick and the school's Director of Athletics, Bubba Cunningham.
In a short, and somewhat lackluster, one-sentence statement, the head coach said: 'I'm fully committed to UNC Football and the program we're building here.
Cunningham simply added that Belichick 'has the full support' of the department and the university, despite the stuttering start to the season.
Last week, The Guardian reported that Belichick has lost the locker room and is already looking to jump ship.
Belichick was said to have discussed his exit plans with the Tar Heels chiefs and is 'even willing to trigger is own $1million buyout, should he find a better alternative with another team or a return to the media'.

To add insult to injury, members of Belichick's coaching staff are also already preparing to flee with some even reaching out to programs that are expected to make it to the CFB playoffs about potential roles, the report added.
Some staffers have reportedly predicted that the expected overhaul could come in the next two weeks with one saying that the 'rats are leaving the ship.'
Belichick's relationship with the 24-year-old Jordon Hudson has been a controversial talking point ever since he signed with UNC, with many believing she has too much of an influence on the head coach.
She has drawn ire from fans for her overbearing presence after she was spotted giving Belichick a pep talk during one of her sideline patrols last month.
Back in August, it was confirmed that the Tar Heels would take part in the behind-the-scenes documentary, with cameras allowed at practice and in the locker room in Chapel Hill.

But after a disastrous start to the season reports emerged on Inside Carolina that the series was no longer going ahead.
Back in March, it emerged that Belichick - and Hudson - had failed to agree a deal with HBO for UNC to appear on Hard Knocks.
Reports at the time claimed that the project fell through in large part due to Hudson, who requested to be heavily involved in the series.
The former cheerleader identifies as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions, according to emails to UNC officials.
